8 weeks out
6 Attachment(s) hey, I'm 19 and going for my second contest coming tomorrow I'll be 8 weeks out but I'm not sure if I'm losing quick enough.
my work out is:
mon-thur 30min low intensity cardio AM, workout PM with 20 min low intensity
fri-sun is 30 low intensity or HIIT AM and another one PM
my diet is the same basicly everyday except refeeds
so
10:00 am- 5 egg whites, 1 whole with either salad or other veggies, 2 fish oil caps and 3 CLA
12:30pm- 4.5oz chicken with salad, small about of olive oil as dressing about 1 Tbs
2:30pm-same as above
4:30pm- 6 egg whites, 4oz sweet potato
7:00-7:30pm PWO shake 40 grams whey, 30 grams maltodextrin
8:30-9:00pm cup of cottage cheese(fat free) 1 Tbs. natty peanut butter 2 fish, 3 CLA
11:30-12 3 oz chicken, veggies with 1 tbs olive oil
4:00 AM protein shake with 20 grams whey/casein mix (i wake up to drink it)
any advise? keep going the way i am? it's more confusing that last time when i had some one telling em what to do (even though the advise wasn't very good)

judging by your avatar pic, in your first show, you came in with great conditioning and great mass for your age.
Right now, you look rather smooth and have alot of cutting to do. Is this comparable to the point you were at last contest at 8 weeks out?? If so, then you do a great job with your pre-contest routine and I say dont change a thing!

Well like he said it seems like you should have an idea of where you are. If you were a first timer I'd say you were behind but if you've pulled it off before, awesome. What's your total caloric intake? It seems pretty low for a 6'4" guy at 230+.
haha yeah i know i was counting it up in my head and was thinking wow... thats all I'm eating? but for some reason I'm running great on it and losing weight at a good pace. As for champs thing this is leaner than i was at a month out last time, these pictures don't do me much justice sadly my pasty color along with terrible lighting does make me look a lot smoother than i am, i actually already have some striation on my quads and triceps. Yeah... i know.. it sounds like I'm making excuses but anything you guys can offer would help. The pic i use as my avatar is pretty deceptive i admit, it actually makes me look big there i was very... VERY skinny in my first comp i ended up doing 2 hours of cardio a day plus weights eating only chicken and broccoli for my last 6 weeks and lost a TON of muscle...
oh and since i started in may I've lost about 40 pounds about 8 of which was muscle sadly
soft for 8 weeks, but not impossible to get in shape. Get on top of some HIIT 2-3x/week with moderate cardio every other day. Tighten up the diet, cycle the carbs...you can come in lean.
I personally think you're a bit behind schedule, so throw some HIT and cardio but be careful not to lose too quickly to spare hard earned muscles ! Your caloric intake is low for your size and carb intake is low as well. So be careful. I'd remove the 8:30-9:00pm cup of cottage cheese(fat free) 1 Tbs. natty peanut butter 2 fish, 3 CLA ( but take the supplements ), and add 3 more egg whites in the morning.I'd move the
11:30-12 3 oz chicken, veggies with 1 tbs olive oil to 9.30.
i'd cycle carbs as well ( and add a bit more carbs on some days something like oats ...). And I'd leave the 4 AM meal, and wake up a bit earlier to have breakfast if you'"re starving.
yeah i figured i wouldn't be 100% for this contest but I'm looking for one thats close afterwards but i can only find one in late November, the contest finder on here got my hopes up then i tried it and it always came up with no contests in the time frame i gave if for any organization
dude i think your fine. Eight weeks is still quite a while. I would do like aguy fish said and cycle the carbs. I would deplete completly 3 days then refeed with oats and sweet potatos. It looks to me like your protien is a little bit low. But you know your body better than we do. Just watch the mirror and keep posing ... a lot! I noticed that when i uped my posing practice i lost a lot of subcantenous water and body fat. Density really came in as well.
yeah thats kind of what I'm doing refeeds 2 times a week after depleting for 3-4 days and I've hardened up considerably since those photos, yeah I realized that my protein in take was really low after I actual sat down typed it up and looked at it so that got kicked up, I'm going to wait another 1.5 weeks and post more pictures so I can give my body time to truly show some major changes and at 6 weeks out I should have a fairly good idea how I'll come in.
Hey bro, you look to be in good shape. Just buckle down these last few weeks and you'll be fine. What weight did you last compete at? I am 6'4" also and weigh about 230 now.

I know it's about look and not the scale, but what weight would you like to come in at for your next show?
you know I'm not even sure haha I'm HOPING 215 or 220 but you never really know and guessing right about now another 10 lbs. or so would put me in good condition if my back and hammies would just harden up already I'm more picture this weekend I thin I've improved quite a bit since the last but I'd still like opinions

started off clean then ended up being very dirty and i just got fat ( hated highschool parties after that; beer and jack in the box= diet holocaust) the for the last year i focused on hardening up then did a small cut then a hard clean bulk and then started prepping at a nice healthy weight of 270 lol
i know no the smartest idea i actually wanted to hold off form doing another show for another year but my girl friend talked me into do one this year and now shes almost as excited as i am.... shes looking forward to painting the pro-tan on me and smearing the dream tan.... women are crazy....
You should be able to come in looking pretty good in 8weeks. you looked great from your avatar. Just keep up with the cardio and diet and you should come in fine
