Jones had said Wednesday that A-Rod probably will face suspicions about steroid use ? just as new home run king Barry Bonds has ? because Jose Canseco recently hinted he has salacious information to disclose about Rodriguez.
?I don?t doubt it,? Jones said. ?There?s been a lot of validation to some of the things that Jose Canseco has said over the years. At first when it came out a lot of people didn?t want to give him a lot of credit for it. But a lot of it has been proven true. Now, when he opens his mouth, people listen. And unfortunately, this cloud is following probably two of the best players of this century.?
New York papers jumped at Jones' comments, splashing his quotes across their back pages.
"It's just the pot-stirrers here," Jones was quoted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I'm actually defending A-Rod, and they turn that around into a swipe. It's a joke. But what more do you expect from people who follow high-profile guys around with camera phones so they can get them in trouble."
After a reporter asked Jones if he would just talk about his fifth inning home run and not his comments about Rodriguez, Jones declined.
"Nope," Jones said. "I'm not going to let you start any crap between me and the Mets. You all started crap [Wednesday.] I've been nice to you all my whole career. You all started crap so I'm done with you."
im curious to see what Canseco has to say about arod. Im sure if he had any real and hard info about Arod, he would have mentioned it in his first book. Seems like he is pressing here alittle to sell the second one.

I go back and forth on Canseco. I mostly think he's a jerk for ratting out people for something he did himself.
And yet, I don't think as many players would've ever been caught without him snitching.
