City taxes ??
We are moving to a new town. It will cost me / my family over 1800.00 a year in city taxes. Also still pay county property taxes, state income, and federal income... Don't forget sales tax or fuel taxes!
Just not sure what in the hell the city does with all that extra revenue.
If you are in the US, you must be a homeowner. The taxes are a levy on your property tax bill for special assessments by the city. Probably for schools or fire and police services.
It pays for many city services from police, fire, street dept, schools etc.
