You act as if this isn't widely known. Good thing evolutionary science has little to do with politics.

Ttt
It's sad to see that people reject a scientific theory simply because it doesn't agree with their personal beliefs.
What amazes me is the amount of ALL those groups that reject the theory. Even the people who never go to church are at 26%. Is science literacy really that poor?
Nothing more entertaining than the CCC (Conservative Christian Creationist) that is face to face with logic, reasoning, and scientific evidence. They always feel like everyone is out to get them and God is constantly testing their faith by having people like Atheists and Evolutionists roaming the world.
Yes!
I can finally sleep tonight.
Youd be suprised at the amount of psuedo-science that these creationist spread with their "ID" musuems. If you ever get the chance i suggest you visit one. I attended one in High School and learned that carbon dating is pretty much a hoax, the word is roughly 4000 years old, and darwin was a depressed drunk who made evolution up. Sadly i was one of only a few in my class who smelt the bullshit that day.

this high school didn't happen to be in texas, did it? lol. I hope he says no. I'd like for us to have at least some dignity here.
What I find interesting are some recent studies which shows a correlation between those believing in ID and those who do not believe in Global Warming.
Once you get this mindset that the scientific consensus cannot be trusted, then you are going down a slippery path...
I hope he says no. I'd like for us to have at least some dignity here. i feel sorry for people that live in texas that r not religious. have u heard of the school district that appointed a self proclaimed creationist as the board leader or something? anyways, he is responsible for buying the science books, and other text books... he says most of them r biased against christians.
anyways his user profile says he lives in texas :p. lol.
It's sad to see that people reject a scientific theory simply because it doesn't agree with their personal beliefs. Yes...I break down and cry about it daily.

anyways his user profile says he lives in texas :p. lol. Oh I'm religious. I'm a Buddhist/Shamanic Pagan so I'm just the WRONG religion. And of course I live in Dallas, where there's a church about every six blocks. Thankfully we also have Buddhist temples, Unitarian Universalist churches, and Kalachandji's (a great Krishna temple and vegetarian restaurant).
Its just funny/sad that there is a correlation that shows that the more people attend church, or the more religious they are, the more likely they are to reject science. Cuz ole Pastor Jim has all the answers to life...cuz JEEEEBUS told him.

Yes...I break down and cry about it daily. Yeah, who cares about evidence or facts, as long as someone believes something it must be true. Let's ignore reality and replace it with a fantasy. That kind of mindset will help us solve the world's problems.

I see you cry too!

While I agree to a certain extent, Austin is from a much different breed then say Houston, Dallas, Lubbock, ect. Austin runs things a little bit differently then those said towns.
