Question:
Chuck's next fight?
Anaheim's Honda Center will be the place where former Ultimate Fighting Championship light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell fights for the first time since losing his belt in a surprising first-round knockout loss to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, UFC officials confirmed Tuesday.
Liddell will fight mixed martial arts veteran Keith Jardine in the main event of UFC 76, scheduled for Sept. 22. Seriously?
C'mon.
Good to hear
Good deal i was wondering when he was going ot fit again, from what i have read Jackson will fit on the ufc75 card that will be hoasted by spike for free. So looks like we have to good tickets comming up>>>
I wish the W. Silva deal would have gone through. But seriously, Jardine? Alexander just handed Jardine his ass. Granted, Rampage handed Chuck his but still.
Joke fight IMO.
Two guys coming off losses as the main event?
Two guys coming off losses as the main event? that too.
shogun vs griffin should be the main event
I guess chuck is the superstar and will always be a main event. Lots of Chuck fans out there.
no surprise
Seriously?
C'mon. Silva fell through and they needed him to fight somebody. Jardine has the ability to upset Lidell, watch out! He is coming off a loss and has nothing to lose. Lets face it, Chuck looked slow and a bit old his last fight. I hope this isnt the beginning of the end...

You're delusional if you think Chuck vs. Jardine and Shogun vs. Griffin are going to be good fights.

Be thankful

The UFC is putting out a bizillion cards a year and not everyone is going to be stacked. The Shogun fight is a showcase fight for the TUF fans and the Liddell fight is what it is, a pay day for Chuck. Be grateful that you can see MMA on practicallyany given weekend. Try to look back 5 yrs ago when there was a card every 3 months and nobody gave a shit about it.

I'm sure he'll be able to tear up Jardine and be the pride and joy of UFC again.
Dana White is protecting his poster boy chuck, putting him against jardine....and griffin is about to get a beat down
Who cares that Chuck is fighting Jardine in the main event? SHOGUN is making his debut!!!!!
The Shogun fight is a showcase fight for the TUF fans it's a showcase fight for me cus I've never seen Shogun fight but I hear he's good. Now I get to see him fight. :)

The Dean of Mean, oh yeah.

Try to look back 5 yrs ago when there was a card every 3 months and nobody gave a shit about it. I'd take less events and better cards any day. I wish MMA still was at the point where the UFC could put together a card like UFC 49, not the shit these days with one decent main event fight and a bunch of shitty "main card" fights (the whole "main card" and "undercard" thing is bullshit, but thats another story)
I'd take less events and better cards any day. That logic makes no sense. Over the same period of time we still get all teh same marquee fights we would with less events, plus fights with less established guys that can turn into amazing fights like Stout/Fisher or Griffin/Guida.
The way I see it, more MMA is a good thing for the MMA fan.
i can see them trying to hype this up as a match chuck liddell will have a problem with, and they could actually be right. chuck has beaten grapplers. anybody that has striked with chuck (except alistair overeem and vernon white). look what happened when chuck fought rampage, and even randy who outstriked him the first time, who isn't a striker.
if jardine doesn't rush into the fight like he did against houston alexander, which i still think he took lightly, he could have a 35-40% chance of winning, IMO.
A lot of people are saying Silva will fight him in November and that he turned down the fight with Liddel in September as he's moving to America and wanted to get settled in first. Silva's also training with Couture now as well. But if Jardine wins against Liddel, i doubt we'll ever see a Chuck - Silva fight.
