Question:
How in the world is junk like this considered a "martial" art?
I just want to stab him in the liver.
lol is that some crazy tkd form? yepp I'd say tkd is the most bullshit martial art. I did it for a few years when I was younger, I remember there were like 9 year olds running around with brown/black belts lol. and I went to a 'good' dojo
i guess it looks kinda cool, but yea, i stopped karate when i was a kid as i didn't see how practising forms was helping me for self defense situations

looks like a form of gung fu to me
I'm scared, one of those whirling hands could hit someone.
very narrow minded thread. Im not saying this would eeeever work in a fight but why put down a MA.. Also not TKD, TKD is primaraly a kicking art. some sort of kung foo or gung foo..which is prob some of the oldest arts. All martial arts arent about fighting its about focus, discipline and technique which he has. I my self would never study nor would i put somebody down who has taken the time to study and learn it. Knowledge is power!
Remember, the style does not win the fight, the person wins the fight. Every style has a counter for every attack another style uses. It is up to the trainee to seek & learn those moves, and be good enough to pull them off.

Looks to me like a Kung Fu form, and he did a good job i think. Not all "martial arts" are strictly mma. He may actually be a good fighter, who knows, but i think forms are an important part of martial arts.

Knowledge is power! Dito , getting black belt in TKD the journey is just starting , you have the basics understanding discipline , and are ready to really learn from that point.
Think it is crap try aproaching a 6th degree master and force him to defend himself , you will have new insight.
I just want to stab him in the liver. you also thought Sylvia was ranked higher than Fedor in that thread u made and deleted soo.. im not sure if i should belive you or not..

Think it is crap try aproaching a 6th degree master and force him to defend himself , you will have new insight. Then that 6th degree master gets absolutely destroyed in the cage and his mystical journey was GAY.
you also thought Sylvia was ranked higher than Fedor in that thread u made and deleted soo.. im not sure if i should belive you or not.. Fedor would absolutely slaughter sylvia. 1st round sub or 2nd round TKO via GnP. I think that Sylvia should be ranked higher though just because Fedor hasn't been doing anything- the same reason you don't rank Ali as a top 10 HW anymore- he hasn't fought in like 20 years.
pretty sure thats wushu.
it is a martial art. too bad most the people who master it neglect the other more important aspects of fighting, like training in realistic situations and training their body.

You know your right? Thank you.

Looks like Chang Quan (long fist).
Lots of these things are ancient arts. It was a fighting art back in the day and now if you guys haven't noticed lots of them are being put to "therapeutic" use. I may be way off, but look at Tai Chi and all other forms of it.
This was the real deal back in the day. Now it's MMA. What else is the future gonna bring?

Looks like Kung-fu, or but then again forms are common to lots of crappy TMAs (Traditional Martial Arts.) If you're going to FIGHT, you have to SPAR. The problem is most kung-fu, most karate**, wing chun, aikido, and TKD schools do not spar. Well, TKD point spars, but that's silly.
Some TMAs spar and pressure test their techniques full contact -- Kyokushin karate (only rule is no punches to the head, watch some tourneys on youtube,) judo, and I hear JKD spars but...I dunno, I've never really looked into JKD. So-called "modern martial arts" -- BJJ, western and Thai boxing, wrestling (freestyle, greco-roman, submission, catch, etc.), kickboxing, etc. are all pressure tested in full contact sparring regularly. It's just how they train. And western boxing is simply an evolution of pugilism which dates back centuries, and Thai boxing is how f'n old? Not really so modern -- they're just the current evolutions of very old concepts. And...well, BJJ is pretty modern, within the 20th century. But, then again, so is the highly rigid and traditional aikido :p.
EDIT: There are are forms in kyokushin karate, but...they still kick each other's asses on a regular basis.
