Question:
Cialis - to use or not
Background: 36yo, been on HRT for 8mths. Otherwise healthy.
Been with my current gf for 4mths. Best relationship I have ever had. We're intimate 1-2 times a day when we're together. She's happy and I'm happy but I guess in the back of my mind I know my erections arent as hard as they were at 26...
I mentioned this to my specialist and he wrote me a script for cialis which I've yet to use... Its really gnawing at me. We're both happy with our love life and I've talked about my problems with her and she says she has no basis for comparison so she's not fussed, she's happy the way things are. But in the back of my mind I keep thinking about what my erections used to feel like.
It takes a bit more effort and alot more to keep it going now and I'm tempted to try cialis but Im scared that I will feel even less of a man than I do now! Also scared that I will be reliant on it. I think I can still get and maintain an erection now even if its not as hard as it used to be so why try this stuff.
Anyone else had this experience ?
Yes take in and get your Estradiol checked sounds like it's getting to high and this will kill your sex life. The more it fails the more it will be on you mind so much so that when all is good your mind will kill it. I have been on Cialis 20 mgs. from the time it came out. I had lost my sex life for 20 due to high estradiol. When I got my Estradiol down my ED got 80% better. So my Dr. gave me Cialis and told me to take it every 72 hrs. So now I don't have the sides from it and I am ready anytime. Plus I get some dam good morning wood and this is healthy for your penis.

I agree..If erections are not very strong then theres a problem with your program..E2 most likely.
Well here's where I am at, my E2 is low - maybe its too low - last test was 60pmol/L about 6wks ago. My erections are mayb 85%-95% hard. Enough to keep my partner happy but requires a fair bit of stimulation to keep it there.
Its been probably 3 years since I had a 100% hard one... But I just worry that if I start taking them now where does that leave me...I'll never be satisfied without them again... Hmm not 100% satisfied now tho am I ?

Hmm not 100% satisfied now tho am I ? Give it a try. The mental boost may be all you need anyway. I certainly wouldn't feel less of a man for taking it. Erection problems is why they made the stuff! So try it and enjoy the response you get from you.
My doc said it is much better than viagra. He said you can make a repeat performance faster too, and last 36 hours.
I would check your complete hormones first...especially prolactin, e2, dht, and progesterone
if thats not it then toy w cialis
I agree that I would check all the potential root problems in your hormone profile, but the Cialis is no big deal. Alot of people like the performance enhancement. I do not like Cialis due to the headaches it gives me. Viagra helped me, and I hardly use it anymore..after dealing with my hormone issues with my Urologist..TRT and hi Estradiol levels. Good luck.
Notwithstanding the fact you may have other problems causing you to get "less hard", I was in the same boat as you and got some Cialis and love it.
As soon as you see what it does, the last thing you will think about is whether you are "man" enough.
Do you take antibiotics if you have the Flu? Of course you do - that is the treatment. I am sure you have no prob with that. Well, Cialis is the treatment for what you have going on - so take the treatment.
You may want to ask the Doc for a drug called Proviron. It IS a steroid but drives your libido through the roof. You can hammer nails with your tool while on it my friend!!!
circulations problems can be the cause as well...
My ex is 53 and he started having the same problem. It really wasn't a problem to me, if we had "sucessful sex" when we wanted, no problem, right? Wrong, because like yourself, it just bothered him, and when you get a sexual mental issue from being bothered over it, that alone can have a negative affect. Sex is 90% mental in normal healthy humans not under any chemical influences that have negative sexual effects.
At around the same time another problem cropped up. He'd go take a tinkle, and five to ten minutes later he's got a wet spot around the size of a quarter on his pants because his bladder didn't completely empty. Not every time, but enough to know something was wrong.
Knowing the wet spots weren't right and knowing his own body and that the erections weren't what they were the year before, he kept after his doctor about it. The cialis was prescribed, hell we were busy and enjoying ourselves before the stuff had time to work, I told him to drop it. At least until we HAVE a problem that prohibits or hinders in some way. The wet spots after urinating was a different story, and even after tests came out normal and we protested that something was wrong the Doc still didn't want to do anything. We changed Docs.
Enlarged prostate turned out to be the problem with both the after-tinkle and less-than-before-erection issues. However in his case, the standard tests didn't detect it. The after-tinkle spots was all we had to go on that something was wrong. No idea why the first Doc thought Cialis and just living with the wet spots was the way to treat these.
I know you guys in here are utilizing various things in your programs that have effects on these things, but sometimes, it is not related. Enlarged prostate left alone can bring about all kinds of problems. The prostate is one organ that never stops growing, if men lived long enough, all would have a problem with this. It's incredible how many autopsy findings reveal men with enlarged prostate, even advanced into cancer, and they never knew when they were alive, having died of something else. They tell you to get check ups for this starting in your 40's, but I have two friends that have had to have treatments more than once to get it back down who were in their late 20's. Treatments included surgery after other methods failed. You guys see the commercials, get it checked. Especially since it is easy to blame your programs for these type issues and dismiss them.
I had this problem started in my 50's took Hytirn to help me void then had the surgery I call it a rem job. This I would not wish on my best enemy helped for a yr. then was back to the same old. I later found out I have high Estradiol levels took Arimidex to get my levels down the High Estradiol was killing my sex life. Getting it down my ED was gone and 2 months later I was not getting up to void. 3 months later seen my Uro for a check up and he told me my Prostate when down and was back to normal. Get is Estradiol checked.
