here is the snippet and link
De La Hoya hired Roach in January to prepare him for his showdown Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden with Floyd Mayweather Jr. They're fighting for De La Hoya's super welterweight belt and Mayweather's mythical pound-for-pound championship in a match expected to generate well over $100 million in gross revenue.
He's 34, rich enough that he's planning to open his own bank and perfectly content to sip espresso and tinker with his golf swing. But when you can get $40 million for a night's work, you take it.

Answer:

Pfft......I would have fought Mayweather for half that.
Ocsar's ripping them off. :D

Answer:

man $40 million for 1 fight! you would be a fool not to take that money hahaha shit chuck liddell needs to take floyd up on his offer and fight a heavyweight in boxing match...chuck still has a punchers chance win or lose he would probally make $5-10 million and no one would think less of chuck.

Answer:

Pfft......I would have fought Mayweather for half that.
Ocsar's ripping them off. :D lmao i know give me 10 million bucks heck give me 5 million i know id lose against floyd but shit ill be like bruce sheldon vs mike tyson haah win or lose im still getting paid.
evander vs tyson back in the 90s was huge money as well...thats the biggest ppv i believe.
both fighters made $20 + million bucks each it has to do with boxing's prestige and history...its like nba, nfl, mlb people like to be apart of a great history or attend a big boxing match to say they were there.
shit the nose bleeds cost 700 bucks for the oscar vs floyd fight...the fight might not be all that great but the build up has been amazing.

I dont think that $19 mil is for them. I think what they were saying was that the fight had already sold $19 mil of tickets (sold out in just 3 hours). Correct me if I'm wrong. I read Mayweather is getting $10 mil and Oscar around his usual $25 mil both excluding PPV cuts.

Answer:

He's the promoter, and the draw that's why he's getting so much. He'll probably end up making more due to PPV buys.

Answer:

oscar makes more in one fight then than even the best MMA fighters make in their whole career LOL

Ya, didnt know they made redbull in the 80's, but the rematch was even more of a beatdown. I dont think Mayweathers style is comparable to Pryor's because Pryor had a fire in him that I usually only see in Mexican fighters. Mayweather is much more controlled, hell ive never seen him brawl. Oscar turning this into a FIGHT is his only chance, because once Floyd opens up, then Ocar's left hook could possibly end it.

These numbers are pretty much what I heard. but theres going to be 100 million gross PPV $$ so 40 isn't out of the question. I think the biggest UFC fighter's purse was Liddell for the Tito rematch(which was the Mayweather/DLH of the UFC AKA the biggest selling fight possible) which was like just over a million including everything like bonuses, ppv etc together.

Answer:

What a poor bastard. I make that in a day.

Answer:

i would go in and get pummelled by DLH for $40 mil
