No, he is a good but not great boxer who gets attention(deservedly so) because he also is a very good football player on the most famous team in the nation.
He will play in the NFL rather than box, he is a sure fire 1st round pick in football and an above average pro boxer. Calling him the American hope is perhaps the biggest overranking of him I have ever heard(and that's saying something.)
He might be the great American hope for white defensive backs, but not HW boxers.

he still has 2 fights left with bob arum on his contract.
and he just needs to tight up his defense he is a very small heavyweight but he has the speed and power and a good jab but he drops his hands down.
with the way the heavies are right now he could easily make noise and he has the looks and the story behind him an appeals to conservative families as well much like oscar did.
yea he is good!
wow, nice left hook, fast and powerful.
wow, nice left hook, fast and powerful. yup it shows what kinda athletes are in football the kid has tremendous reflexes foot speed and hand eye coordination.
He plans on havin 1-2 more Pro Matches before he enters the NFL Draft. He then plans n playing in the NFL for about 6-8 years and then focus 100% on boxing.

I think he can do both... he should play nfl and then in the offseason have at least 2 fights against some journey men while he is playing in the nfl just so he doesnt get rusty. Its easier then play baseball and football like bo jackson and sanders tried.
tommy z would be a big star in the nfl since he could be a two sport athlete boxer and footballer dude has it made.

You think any NFL team is going to give him a contract that says he can box during the offseason? Teams won't even let players ride motorcycles in most contracts, some even forbid pick up basketball games.
He wouldn't be able to anyways, the NFL offeseason is necessary for recovery, your body takes a beating. He is not going to be abe to train in boxing, and fight twice in a 5 month period every offseason. He'd be completely drained and probably injured for the NFL season and no team will allow that to happen.

I never knew they changed the contracts now.
I strongly think that he'd get KTFO by Brewster, Klitschko, Peter, and any other good heavyweight. Even after training for a few more years.

Bo Jackson was a baseball player 1st, football 2nd, although he was damn good at both
Deion Sanders was the best corner in the NFL, maybe of all-time, he could dictate what his contract said.
Plus, baseball is not NEAR the injury risk that Boxing is.
Like I said, almost all footall contracts state you can not ride a motorcycle, and there are even some that say you can't play pick up basketball games, no team is going to allow a rookie safety to box in the offseason.
Look ast Jeff Samarja(i know thats spelled wrong) his teammate at Notre Dame. NFL teams told him to choose either football or baseball, he said he wanted to play both, NFL teams told him they weren't interested so he is playing just baseball now.

but If tommy z does choose to be a boxer he would be very marketable if they hyped him up right I think he might be fighting on this june 9th card in new york again the zab judah vs migual cotto fight not sure.
probally gonna give him another 4 rounder against a shoe salesman.
