Peter Brock has died. - Page 5
Question:

It really has been a crappy week in Aus history hasnt it.
I was at work yesterday morning when two of the younger lads in my team came in late. They had been down to Forrest Chase first thing to check out the rally cars and had met Peter and got his autograph - they were so excited. 3 hours later he was dead. The news came thru as a news flash on the radio and it went around our office of 4000 people in minutes.
The streets around my home last night were closed off as the rally cars were coming in to show off etc. Instead it turned into a big celebration of Brockies life and career. More than 5000 people stood for a minutes silence there in the streets.
Oh - people have commented on Bev doing the interviews. She was asked to by their kids because his new girlfriend wasnt capable (naturally) of interviews. Bev and Peter remained best of friends after thier divorce last year - it wasnt a bitter relationship at all.
I felt she remained quite composed tho yu could see the shock in her face. And she said she had a premonition earlier in the week (both she and Peter were very much into things like that) that had left her shaken all week so she knew it was coming.

Answer:

KJOY Read in todays paper that she had the premonition about Peter crashing into a tree 12 months ago and then had the same dream last week. Whether or not this is true who knows, either way the whole thing is a tradgedy for his ex, their kids and his current partner. The main thing is for us to remember, regardless of anyones comments including Bevs is that Brockie was a legend at his sport and from all reports an all round nice guy. The world is just a quiter place without him in it. RIP BROCKIE!!! We will miss u!!!!

Oh I hadnt read that she had the premonition twice. So sad. I do believe very much in premonition dreams because I personally dreamed about Port Arthur and Sept 11.
I never met Brockie but every one I know who did meet him over the last 30 years said he was the nicest famous person you could ever meet. A real genuine guy.

Answer:

Did anyone watch the Tribute on Ch 7?
I did and I wasn't overly fussed on it. I hope another Channel does something better.

Answer:

Hi Beverley
We watched some of it, I thought it was very ordinary. I wanted to see more of Brocky in action, not people chatting.
They did the same with the Steve Irwin Tribute, too much talking, not enough footage.
I love your picture of Brocky, he was a very good looking guy.

Answer:

Hey Bev
I watched Channel 7 last night, gosh it was less than ordinary.lets hope Channel 10 does something as that seems to be the car racing channel.OMG it is such a tragic accident.
61 is still very young to die.
and today is the anniversary of 9/11 what a terrible month September is turning out to be.

Answer:

Glad I'm not the only one that thought that.
I was wanting to see Peter, not everyone sitting around smiling and chatting and being asked stupid questions.
I hope someone does something with a lot of footage of him in it. I want to see him!

Answer:

I didn't bother watching the tribute show, I think only ch 10 can do a good job of it, so will wait till they have something on.
For all those coming from search engines looking for sick jokes about dead Aussies Legends, sorry, but you won't find them here

Answer:

I have to correct something that I posted right at the beginning. I said that Bev Brock wasn't the mother of all of their children.
Sorry. She is. I don't know where I got that idea from. I thought it was in an interview with the eldest son when he started racing. I guess my ears weren't open properly.
Leigh I watched Ch 2 (ABC) yesterday afternoon at 6.30. It was a repeat but I'd not seen it before. 'Talking Heads' I think it's called. It was an interview that they'd done with Peter and it was really good. It was a recent interview too.

Answer:

THE two women in Peter Brock's life are expected to come face to face today as his body arrives in Melbourne ahead of a state funeral, to be held in the city's St Paul's Anglican Cathedral on Tuesday.
I love how they can make a headline out of this - the fact that the women have known each other extremely well for 20 years just wouldnt make a spectacular enough headline would it.
