Question:
Remember February 1993, when a young 3 yr old boy was taken from Liverpool, United Kingdom, by two 10-year-old boys? Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second, when Jon Venables took Jamie by the hand and led him out of the mall, with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 1/2 miles, along the way stopping every now and then to torture the poor little boy, who was crying constantly for his mother. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him and rubbed paint in his eyes. It was actually worse than this. What these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie's mother was forbidden to view his body. They left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run over him to hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys, understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident. This week Lady Justice Butler-Slass has awarded the two boys (now around age 24) anonymity for the rest of their lives, when they leave custody with new identities. They will also leave early this year only serving just over half of their sentence. They are being relocated to Australia to live out the rest of their lives, (didn't think it was a convict settlement anymore). They disgustingly and violently took Jamie's life away- in return they each get new identities and new lives.
Do you think this is very fair?
Do you think Australian kids are safe with those two living among them?
I'd love to hear your views, I think it is appalling to think that another country can still send it's unwanted beings over to Australia.
Don't worry.this incensed so many people world wide, that I really don't think they would be able to remain anomymous anywhere.
I feel very strongly that the Australian Government, as our representatives, should oppose this action both on the grounds of their criminal history and the fact that we are no longer a dumping ground for the UK's unwanted.
in my view these kids should have spent the rest of their lives locked up as they took that poor boys life from him you don;t see him in a couple of years playing with friend - working this is total bullshit. The australian Government should be ashamed of thenselves (I have 3 young kids i'm not happy at all) what happened to justice for this young boy his family who go through hell every single day. You know what gets me is this paroll (is that how you spell it sorry) if they do good behave in jail let them out Piss off they should serve out their sentence as when they get out they'll just do it again.

No I don't think this is fair at all (and usually get people argueing my point!) but I don't think there is any excuse to kill someone and these two boys should stay locked up at the very least.
And to those people that want to say the boys had problems and should have a second chance, I don't agree and will not apologise for having my own thoughts, feelings and opinions.
I don't think they should be set free either. I am sure there will be leak with the secret identities and we will know who and where they are . Please remember that England can't just send people here. Maybe we should be blaming the Australian government for accepting them.
Laura's Right the boy boy they killed didn't get a second chance i'm all for capital punishment coming back in a life for a life that's what i think.
They shouldn't be allowed to use that mental problem excuse.

Please dont fall for this (again) - its an email that has been going around the world for more than 5 years.
One boy now lives in Canada and one lives in the UK still. Both were given new identities (years ago when they were released - not last week as the fake email suggests) and the UK papers revealed the identities immediately so it achieved nothing.
They were NEVER going to be sent to Australia. The Immigration Minister at the time of their release (YEARS AGO!) stated quite firmly and correctly - that Australia does not allow immigration rights to those with criminal records.
So while I do agree they should never have been released - please understand this is very very old news - it all happened years ago - not last week !
PS - just checked the BBC website and confirmed they were in fact released in June 2001 when they turned 18 after they served their entire 8 years sentences. So this hoax email is now officially older than 6 years !
