Question:
BUSINESS and government have praised the first day of daylight saving in Western Australia, but farmers say it has brought only more work and complications for them.
My mother rang me to complain that at 7.30 it was stil daylight asked me if I was p'd off. Hell no my kids I were outside playing cricket hubby was packing the car to go shooting, we had a ball loved it. I know my kids are going to enjoy every minute of extra sunshine over the holidays
Its taking a bit to get used to. I keep telling myself oh its really only 11 o'clock don't need to have lunch yet or its really only 5 oclock don't need to have tea yet I must stop doing that We all went for a walk after tea though and then went for another around the block to see the Christmas lights , didn't get the boys to bed till 9 0'clock though and then had to get them up at 7.30 which is really only 6.30 Walked into the preprimary and the clock still said 7.30 instead of 8.30 Yes it will take a little getting used to.
forget what the clocks say. I dont like it LOL
For years I have been waking up at around 7.15am, now I need a damn alarm clock to wake us up. my body needs reprograming to wake earlier (same with the kids). I just couldnt get to sleep before 1am either. we'll just get used to it, then they will change it back.
I think yesterday was the hardest. It will get easier!
I went through most of yesterday an hour behind everyone else! I had been in on the computer for most of the day. On time I looked at the computer clock and it said 3.10pm. I thought ok, I've can stay here a little longer. About an hour went past and I thought I better get off it now and go socialise with my family, so went out into the kitchen and looked at the clock and it said, 5.10pm. I thought I was going crackers for a minute until DH informed me that he had reset all the clocks forward.
My grandson usually goes to bed at 7.30pm on a school night and he accused me of trying to put him to bed early because it was still so sunny!
The only ones who seem to be complaining at the moment, according to the morning radio news, are the farmers, saying it has created more work for them.
I'm totally against it. I hate summer and just the thought of longer days and the blazing heat.
I am loving it already! I cant wait til I go away on holidays after Christmas. It has not affected my baby at all, I put her to bed at 7.30 with no problem and she is sleeping through the night. My partner is enjoying having some daylight when he knocks off work!
Its been a killer for me.
As a chronic insomniac I have generally fallen asleep around 6.30am and my alarm goes off a 7.30am.
Problem being - my body chooses that time to go to sleep - not in accordance with a clock.
So I am still falling asleep at 6.30am only its now 7.30am and yep - a minute or so later my alarm goes off.
So I basically havent slept all week.
And I usually stay at work till sunset-ish because its cooler to walk home - but I have found myself still in the building when it closes at 7pm and still walking home in the heat.
So all in all my delightfully disfuctional state government has not miraculously improved my social life or health as it so believed it would. Instead I am a walking zombie making huge errors at work due to severe lack of sleep and am working later and later just to stay in the aircon !
Needless to say - not only do I know what my referendum vote will be - I also know that neither Liberal or Labor will be getting my vote at the next election.
I hate it. It is 8.30 and it is just dusking . Grrrrrrrrrrr It will be so late when we get to look at the Christmas lights, because it isn't dark enough till 9pm. as for carols by candle light. I doubt we will go, as what is the point with it still light.
My 6 children wont go to sleep till the normal time (When it gets dark) and this makes them grumpy, and fighting with each other. As for doing stuff with the extra daylight. It was never dark till 7.30 anyway, so I don't see how that extra hour is beneficial at all.
Nope not a fan at all, and I'm annoyed they are trialling it for 3 years. 1 should be enough to work out how bad it is LOL
well i hate summer whether it's DS or not, but if we must have DS please tell me why we don't have it in winter?
