Question:
As some of you may know from my previous thread im on the lookout for my first digital camera!
I have done a few searches and came up with a few that are in my price range and look ok to me (not that i really know what im looking at )
I was just wondering what you ladies think of my short list any comments good or bad are really appricated, as i dont want to buy something that ill later regret! and as i said i have no clue what im looking at.
Polaroid $129.99
Fuji fine pix A400 Reg $149.99 (reduced but dont know what to)
Kodak easyshare C330 $149.99
Kodak easyshare C530 $129.99
I would obviously compare prices to see if somewhere else had it cheaper ATM im just going on approx price.
Thanks.
Hi Manda
Get one with a warranty, I got my digital camera last year and it is an Olympus.
Ask if any come with memory cards (as they can cost a bit) and you will need software to download your photos onto your computer, but all come with that I think.and the net is always there to help, I just need to get my head around it all.
This is just an idea, I went to a proper camera place like Ted's Camera House at Erina and got one to the guys to show me all there cameras and of course they showed me the best and what to look out for, they I went somewhere cheaper and got the same camera but at a fraction of the cost, I got mine at Harvey Norman at Erina.just an idea, as if your buying from say Target the sales person might not know all the in and outs of it.etc.just a thought.
I found Harvey Norman or the Good Guys both excellent and Myer were also good and they have a big sale on now.they seem to have guys working there who can show you all the bits and pieces about cameras and asked all the right questions.ie megapixels and what you want to use the camera for.
Trust me they are soo good, I loved it for my trip and took the best shots of the Grand Canyon.I am hanging to take photos of my nephew when he is born.
Shop around is your best bet.also type in Choice Magazine and see what they recommend.
I have bought my last two from Teds Camera House. My newest one is an Olympus C-480 and it is easy to use and does good quality pictures as it is 4.0 megapixel. They have really come down in price but the more megapixel than the better quality the photographs. I cant remember what I paid for it - it was around $199 or something I think.
We also got our new canon through Ted's and they have been terrific. Their follow on service is great too. Even if you just go there (or to another camera store) to ask questions, I do find sometimes that HN and the other big stores can be a bit busy/rushed/not sure of the information (have mainly had this problem on weekends). I haven't used any of the cameras you mention but we've had a couple of canons now and both have been fantasatic.
Well just off the thread slightly - I have to go and purchase a new camera myself now as my partner left my camera in the back of the taxi. I couldnt remember what model I had bought so luckily I had mentioned it earlier in the post.
I will try and get an Olympus again but will have to hunt around and see what I can find so Manda - I am now back in the same boat as you. Did you manage to pick one up yet?
Not yet i have to wait til my baby bonus comes thru so hopefully anyday now!
My old camera was a Kodak Easyshare. They are great and take great picture. And they are so easy if you are starting out. I only upgraded 'cause I wanted more pixels. My new one is a Canon, it was on special but still cost a couple of hundred. But it is fantastic. Takes the best pics and I can make them bigger for printing without loosing quality of pic. I agree try to get a memory card thrown in.but they arent' too keen on it. I got one thrown in but it is only 16MB.good for a back up but not very good in any other case.
Manda, I am also looking for a camera in the $150 - 200 price range. I have noted a bunch of the ones that you have looked at. I think I am leaning towards the Kodak Easy Share ones. Plus, some of them, if you order online through Kodak, you can get a photo printer for $50 when they are usually $100 - $200.
Let me know what you choose!
Well I managed to pick up the identicaly one I had before on ebay for $150 so that was a pretty good bargain and that included shipping from the states.
