Also do you make them in the morning or the night before?

Answer:

Sandwich for lunch!! Crisps and a piece of fruit for recess. Sometimes a le snack thing or other processed piece of junk. Just no soggy sandwiches.

Answer:

A sandwich, piece of fruit, sultanas, cheese biccies, popcorn, vegie sticks like carrot or celery (Jack sometimes takes a few mushrooms too), cheese stick, seed and nut mixes (some schools have bans on nuts), fruit muffins a water bottle.

Answer:

Mel I wish I got that lunch for school! Yummy!
I got vegemite sandwiches, a frozen popper, frozen water bottle and a muesli bar just about every day. If we had roast chicken or corned beef the night before it was a real treat because it meant no vegemite for a day.

Answer:

My boy loves a salad sandwich, home made yoghurt (frozen). He can have banana's again the price has gone down. I often make bickies and cakes which he loves for a treat in the lunch box. Lots of water. He even likes to take just a whole tomato and eats it like an apple. He reacts to processed foods but he enjoys helping me decide what he's going to take the next day.

Hey Kay they don't get all of that every day, I really have to watch what Jack eats so I try and stay away from processed foods and food high in sugar

Answer:

Wraps are good. They don't go soggy. I put lettuce, grated cheese, ham, pineapple and corn and mayo in them and they kids go mad on them. Of course I can't forget to add an icepack to keep it all cool. Yogurt and fruit.

Answer:

My kids have. a sandwich (which their choice of topping) a piece of fruit. a frozen popper (helps keep the lunch cool) then a packet of cheese (Bega Shapes). some yoghurt covered berries (Go Natural - in health food isles). if I have been baking a piece of cake or bikkies (I have a great recipe for a low fat choccy cake that takes 4mins in the Microwave to cook). and sometimes a cheese bikky dip. or a fruit stick. or a K-Time bar. or something like that.
Our kids get to have water bottles on their desks. so I usually half fill one of a night time . in the freezer then top up with water in the morning. keeps the water cold most of the day. And their lunch boxes and drink covers are the insulated variety.

Answer:

I still make the TT's lunches, but of course his tastes have changed.
Firstly, generic sandwich bags are the best/cheapest packaging (you can make them airtight with masking tape.or tie a knot), buy several healthy(?) snacks as mentioned above when they are on special and hide until needed.
Cut oranges into quarters, cut apples into wedges, cut the top off the banana (the delights will eat if it doesn't cut into their playing time or they can hold in their hand .or pocket put together and put in a sandwich bag and seal as above.
Always involve them in the sandwich making process.soggy items put into a separate bag. Never make the night before.bread will harden if not in the more expensive zip lock bags. Keep Poppas in the freezer especially in the summer and wrap in some paper towel to absorb moisture. Never, never, never buy the yoghurt tubes.the delights can't open them and the Teachers' won't.
Secondly, some ideas for a lunchbox.individual grapes and thin cubes of cheese; peanut butter or cream cheese packed into celery pieces (3inches long), grated cheese and carrot wrapped in lettuce (these I do cover with cling wrap); big watermelon/rockmelon cubes (less chance of bruising); grated cheese between 2 water crackers (3 lots is sufficient).
Look I could go on.

Answer:

Well, you are full of great ideas Heather
