Body Quiz

What's Your Favourite Restaurant?
Question:

When we went to visit my father inlaw (with my brother inlaws family as well) who recently moved to the mountains we decided to go out for dinner then the discussion came up on where to go, with a short debate we decided to go to a chinese Restaurant at Hazlebrook (mountains) it was really great food - if anyone goes up near there it's worht a stop.
Another qestion is, If you didn't like a certain cultural food (eg: Thai, chinese) you were the only one in a group of 10 would you go anyway try the food or order something little (obviously there would be something on the menu that you would eat ,obviously you wouldn't eat everything on the menu but there has to be something there to eat) We have this debate everytime we go out with my father inlaw when his girlfriend tags along. All the family likes to try different foods but she digs her heels in then were stuck eating what she wants.

Answer:

Im in the southern suburbs of Adelaide and there is this gorgeous little Indian restuarant in Morphett Vale called Oh Calcutta, it sure gets my vote.

Answer:

I love a place called Fat Belly Cat - it's Greek based and shared meals and is divine! Hubby loves it too but he and kids usually choose Chinese or the pub.
As for the other part of your question - I find myself in this position a bit and I go along and try to find something. Thai worries me as years ago I broke out in a rash from something in the food (head to toe), I also can't eat chilli and I'm not fussed on Chinese. But, I find myself in these restaurants quite regularly and just scan the menu till I find something edible.
But, maybe she just finds it 'frightening' (not best choice of word). We were raised on meat and veg and when I first started going out with friends I didn't want to try anything new. Maybe the same is going on for your father's friend? Maybe try to get hold of a men before you go so she can look and realise there is something she will like.

Answer:

shawn favourite is Mc Donalds there one i like but i cannot think of the name of it at the moment

Answer:

Hey, we have an Oh Calcutta in Sydney too . wonder if they're 'related'.
My favourite at the moment is Marque ( but it's pretty $$ so definitely just for special occasions).

Answer:

My Favourite restaurant is The White Elephant Thai restaurant in Bunbury. I also love The Jolly Frog in Dawesville. When I lived in Adelaide it was The Korea Restaurant on Goodwood Road.
I dont think that there could possibly be a restaurant that I would have trouble ordering something!!! I love all types of food!!
I think Kerrie's idea of getting a menu in advance is a good idea so a fussy eater could perhaps find something before deciding whether or not to go.

Answer:

I love Thai Orchid (Chinese/Thai restaurant at Springwood or Milton), also love the Norman Hotel for their steak. I like Cactus Jacks (Mexican) and La Porchetta (Italian) as well.
Oh and there's a great place up at Hervey Bay that does a ripper steak as well.I can't think of it's name for the life of me but it's on the main drag, has polished wooden floors and looks like a steakhouse. I had a eye steak wrapped in bacon on mashed potato with mushroom sauce and I do believe it was the best steak I have ever had.
I will try mostly anything but I get antsy if someone suggests Indian or a place that only does traditional Thai food. Only because no matter how much I emphasise that it needs to be very mild, it always ends up with way too much curry/spice in it and I spend all night on the loo. And there is no way in hell that I will ever eat raw fish so if anyone has a sushi bar in mind they have to have something cooked on the menu as an alternative.

Answer:

I love d'Arry's Verandah restaurant at d'Arenberg Winery in McLaren Vale, SA. It's pretty expensive at around $50-$60/head but is well worth it for those who can afford it. The last meal I ate there was a kingfish carpaccio (Italian-style sashimi) with seaweed salad and flying fish roe entree, followed by a blue swimmer crab and spinach linguini with white wine and cream sauce, topped with sour cream and caviar, followed by a passionfruit souffle with pouring cream for dessert. The food is always cooked to perfection and the service is 5 star so it's no surprise they have won Best Restaurant in a Winery a few years running. They are only open for lunch and reservations are essential.

Answer:

I LOVE a restaurant in Birmingham, AL called Surin West. Its a Thai restaurant with divine sushi and Thai dishes. I fell in love with it seven years ago!!

Answer:

This place called Johnny Carino's. They used to have one in Albuquerque where I lived, but the last time I was visiting, they had closed down, and there isn't one in Las Vegas, so I'm kind of on the hunt for a new favourite. I'm kind of loving this late night cafe inside the Paris hotel/casino. I was there last week and had an AWESOME grilled chicken sandwich.
If I'm in a group of people who want a type of food I don't like (I'm pretty much the only person I know who doesn't eat Chinese food) I'll usually just suck it up and go anyway, and look for something which looks/sounds okay. There's usually at least something that is tolerable.
