Di, go work in a hospital on a busy day shift. It will cure you of your need to make beds ever, ever again. I just pull the doona up and that's it.

The only time I make my bed is when I change the sheets Gav makes his bed most morning, very messily though and Ty, well he strips his sheet off most days

Stormy they love me in hospitals.when i was in there having the kids I was being watched very closely because of the Lupus.so was in weeks before I actually had them. I would always go around stripping the beds and making them up.when the laundry was on strike once they even had me folding the towels.
Now when it comes to my very own bed I must admit to being a little pedantic.because of my sore joints I turn over constantly in the night and found that I was always getting caught up in the top sheet.so we don't have a top sheet anymore.just a fitted bottom one and the doona.(or duvet if you are a pommy git ).and I just wash the doona cover every time I wash the bottom sheet.at least once a week.

Patric you are more than welcome at IGH any time you want to pay us a visit. Once you've made them all you can roll bandages. Just kidding, we don't launder them any more.
I don't use a top sheet either, just the doona and if it's really cold in winter then the mink blanket gets thrown on top.

well i was never fussy with housework until recently. When you have kids we all know that there's always something to do besides housework, i used to just pull the quilts up then that's it made!!! but now i want everything perfect. (don't ask what happened as i don't know!) the poor kids who got used to pulling their quilts up have me going checking to see if they've tucked in the sheet properly ( i feel like a sargent in the army _ my pop would be impressed!!!!)
I also got hubby to buy a new wallunit as the one we had was too low every bit of rubbish(well i call it rubbish - kids hubby don't) used to go ontop of the wallunit - so i got a tall one with loads of glass so there's somewhere for all my photo's christianing items.
so everything is getting the complete clean thrown out if i don't intend to ues it.
I call it the MIDLIFE CRISISas i'm 30

Mel i was going to ask you how old you are lol, i was an absolute perfection nut untill i got Gkids, but i do think if the beds made the dishwasher packed then I'm on my way to a tidy house but its funny because yesterday i told my 10 yr old grandaughter to make her bed i went in checked it (what a mess) so i got her to strip it i showed her how to make it properly then i stripped it got her to do it, after she had i said there you go now how do you feel she said 'buggared' lol so then i explained that thats how i make my bed thats why i don't want her her brother lying all over the beds when they are made. then i went on to say that from now on when they have been lying all over the beds i will be stripping them they will remake them lol.

I am so fussy almost bordering insanity,I have to have my beds made to perfection everything in line and even, pillows puffed and sitting side by side, and no way can I get into an un made bed, when guest have stayed here and on there departure I wave them off and soon as there car is out the drive I am in remaking the bed,nobody yet has ever made my beds to the way I like it, my mother comes close but even she has not mastered the pillows
my youngest daughter hates it when I make her bed, she says she had it just right moulded to her shape nice and comfy and I go and puff it all up again,
so how about you ?
