Serial killers
Question:

Ok, I got really spooked after watching the movie, Texas chainsaw massacre. Although that was a movie, but I am really scared of serial killers. After the incident in England just a couple of months ago, I was thinking anyone can be one. There could be serial killers lurking outside your letterbox, acting as your postman, garbage collector, neighbour, anybody can be one.
My brother told me Sydney has one of the worst serial killers murders. My gosh, Sydney is where I live. I thought Adelaide was a ghost town, but my brother said it is actually here in Sydney! Creepy.

Answer:

Really, I didn't know there is one in Sydney. We had the Claremont Serial killer here in Perth but no one has been linked to him in about 10 years I think. although there has been a few people under suspicion and surveillance.
It is scary when you think about it. so I just try to avoid thinking about them!

Answer:

We have here in Wisconsin two well serial killers, Ed Gein and Jeffery Dahmer.
Here's a list of movies that you might have seen.
WISCONSIN'S PSYCHO
The Deviant Life Times of Ed Gein

A beautiful blond undresses and steps into the shower, only to be attacked a few moments later by a man in woman's clothing, who stabs her to death.
Lost teenagers stumble onto a terrifying family of cannibals who dress in human skin and create furniture and ornaments from human bone and flesh.
A vicious serial killer kidnaps and slaughters young girls so that he can create a suit from human skin and thus, transform himself into a woman.

Sound familiar? Of course it does. These are portions of the plots from three chilling films called PSYCHO, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. They are three films after which you can leave the darkened theater and tell yourself thank god, it's only a movie. Or can you? Because, you see, elements of each of these blood-curdling films actually occurred. In real life though, the killer's name was not Norman Bates, Leatherface or Jame Gumb -- but Edward Gein.
[edit] References in film
The movie Jeffrey Dahmer: The Secret Life was released in 1993, starring Carl Crew as Dahmer.
In 2002, the biopic Dahmer, starring Jeremy Renner in the title role, premiered in Dahmer's hometown. The film, which portrayed Dahmer in a somewhat sympathetic light, met with protest from the victims' families, and quickly went to video.
Dahmer is mentioned in the Wes Craven film Scream 2 (1998), sarcastically as having been described as a nice, quiet guy by his neighbors.
Dahmer was one of the serial killers emulated by the villain in the movie Copycat (1995). Like Dahmer, the villain went to gay bars and drugged his victims' drinks; he also cuts off one victim's head with a surgical saw.
In the movie Demolition Man (1993), the criminal Simon Phoenix (played by Wesley Snipes) discovers Dahmer's name in a list of cryogenically frozen people and decides to release him, declaring, Jeffrey Dahmer? I love that guy! This scene is frequently deleted in modern broadcasts of the film due to the anachronistic reference.
In the 2005 movie, The Ringer, starring Johnny Knoxville, Knoxville acts as a mentally retarded person trying to win money in the special Olympics; throughout the movie Knoxville's character is known as Jeffy Dahmor.
In School for Scoundrels (2006 film), the main character is called Dahmer by his girlfriend's best friend.

Answer:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre scared the mess outta me!
I went to Florida State University where Ted Bundy killed the girls in the sorority house. Happened on the street where I lived for two years.
I try not to think about them. There are wackos out there and there is nothing we can do about it.

Answer:

I absolutely love reading about serial killers. I've read books about The Snowtown bodies in the barrel case, Fred and Rose couple killers in England, Just finished reading about The Green River killer from Seattle (killed 49 women in just under 3 years). I've read heaps of books about individual killers too, Jayden Leske murder, Gonzales Family murder, etc.
Must be like watching a road accident, I don't wanna see it but you just can't help myself.

Answer:

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. but I'm positive I read only recently that all of Australia's serial killers and mass murderers were born in SA. So, that's why Adelaide has the reputation. Obviously, anyone could be a killer, but from what you see on American tv shows and from what I remember when visiting the UK and Europe, we don't have that many. Yes, I realise that any is far too many

The Jaidyn book was a nightmare to read but I still firmly believe that greg Domasevich and jaidyns' mum had something to do with the whole thing, but he's been aquitted and she's not talking so that's that isn't it. I don't get to watch CI channel on foxtell cause we don't have it. But my wonderfull sister is getting it soon so I'm sure I will be a regular visitor to her house when she does.
