Question:
Hello all!!
I'm back again. Don't know if I've been missed, but you can stop missing me if you did, coz here I am.
I haven't had the net for a while because our ex-housemate decided to have the phone disconnected, coz she's a cow, so that put a stop to all net happenings.
Things that have happened since I left (or was forced to leave rather lol).
1. Stew and I just moved into our own place (thus the reason that I can be on the net again hehe). Its great. 3 bedroom + study townhouse for cheap as chips in canberra (not an easy find let me tell you). Goodbye cow housemate, hello space and freedom!! Having some troubles with the furniture suppliers, but I guess thats normal. We're using a blow-up bed for the couch atm, because the company we got the furniture from neglected to tell us that our fabric was out of stock, until we went in to pay off the balance owing and collect it all. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed. They could have called us. We still have another week before we get the couch. We have to wait another 3 weeks for the bed that is going into one of the spare rooms tho, because they forgot to make it riiiight. I've got to go back to them again soon, because one of the handles for the bedside table will not go on. I actually threw the handle at the wall. I'm lucky it didn't dent it since it's a rental house lol. I made them give us seperate free delivery for the couches and bed once they come in. Had drama's with the dvd player and microwave as well. The guy that took my order to start with told me he was putting the dvd player out the back that day. 5 weeks later I come in to collect everything and the dvd player isn't there. He never put it out the back and then it needed to be backordered. I ended up having to pay an extra $17 to get a different dvd player. I know its only $17 but my original one should have been there. When we took the microwave out of the box, one of the prongs on the power cable was bent and wouldn't plug in. Stew put it back in the box and I took it back to them as it wasn't safe. The guy said Oh you could have just bent it back to its original shape, but if you want a new one, I'll get it for you. I took the new one, got it home and one of its prongs was bent as well. Not as bad as the last one, so we just kept it. It works well. I'm so over furniture and electrical stores atm.
2. I lost my job with the car hire company It was unfair dismissal, but because I was only there 8 weeks, apparently I cant fight it I don't mind though. I'm still friends with one of the girls there. She's great. Her partner and Stew work together. Small world hey lol.
3. I started my studies for my Bachelor in Criminology and Criminal Justice, so it was kind of good that I lost the fulltime job, so I'm searching for a part-time one now. Am cranky about being fired, but it was for the best in the end I guess. I'm enjoying my course. It's really fascinating. Whenever I was crime shows now, I've already started to pick out the crap they put in there that isn't really part of the law and crime lol.
4. Stew and I have decided to become foster carers (as long as they accept us). We are currently going thru all the interviews and assessments for it. It will apparently take about 6 months or so for everything to be completed, but after that, if we're accepted, we get to provide a caring and loving home for children that don't get that at home with their families. We've decided on the ages of 0-5yrs old. I'm really excited about it all. I've wanted to be a foster carer for a long time. Now that we have our own place, it makes it easier
Anywayz, I think I've bored you guys for long enough now. Will go do some more artwork I think while checking out other posts.
xx Melz
