I am registered and have the card over my drivers licence.
Kay i watch a lot of Discovery and Nat Geo, where they have the medical shows and hospital show, filmed as it happens nothing made up. I know what goes on with the body now and have a better understanding of what doctors and nurses go through to help someone. Which they can't always do.

Kimba you didn't offend me, I have heard some stories too, It is apart of life stories will be circulated by those that don't approve.

Answer:

I am an organ donor my family cant understand why but as I say to them if it was them or me or my kids on the waiting list they would be wanting other ppl to donate so I am on it to help others that may need it. I dont need them after I'm gone they will only become worm food so put them to good use. And if they override my decision then look out their lives will become hell

Answer:

My mum doesn't agree with my decision.she is one of those who believe that they won't try so hard if you are an organ donor, no matter how much I explain things to her. She's absolutely fixed on that belief. She also says to me what if you're not REALLY dead and they make a mistake. They do not make mistakes. It's been a long time since I worked there but there are 6-8 criteria that must be fulfilled to certify brain death. And in any case, I don't want to be a vegetable - that's no way to live.
I can understand how family's feel at that point in time.it is devastating and I cried with a lot of mums, dads, brothers and sisters after the fact. But in the majority of cases they were doing what they felt was right - it was just so hard to lose them but at least something good was coming out of something so senseless.
For anyone who wants to read up on the myths surrounding transplantation go to . It's a good resource page to give to your family and/or friends who may have some doubts about your decision.

Answer:

I have been an organ donar since I was 18.
I simply don't understand why someone would chose not to be?
If one of my kids passed on, I would donate their organs to save other people from having to deal with such a tremendous and heart breaking loss.
It is such a big thing that you can do for another person, who will appreciate it for the rest of thir lives (because they would not have a life without you gift).

Answer:

This is a subject very close to my heart. Several years ago my beautiful niece Michelle was involved in a horsing accident. She was still alive when she reached the hospital.but only just. It was soon discovered that due the extreme trauma to her head she was 'brain dead'. Her distraught parents then had to make the terrible decision to turn off her life support.
It was during this time that organ donation was discussed with them. They knew that it would be the kind of thing Michelle would do in a heart beat.so today their beautiful angel lives on in the bodies of many others.
It is such a sad story, she was such a gorgeous girl inside and out, with her whole life in front of her.I know her parents get some comfort knowing that Michelle was able to help so many sick people who without Michelle's help would have died also.
Sleep peacefully beautiful girl.
