Question:
I was watching All Saints on the TV in the loungeroom Bob was watching something else on the TV in the bedroom, he called me in at firstI didnt realise it was aterrorist attack I thought he was watching a show on aircraft disasters. Then when it hit me I bawled it was sooo awful. We left the TV on all night kept waking up to see/hear the latest reports. I remember the next day going to work atthe cafe we had the TV on all day,a couple who had been travelling came in about 2pm stood there gob smacked as they saw it I explained it to them as their radio wasnt working they knew nothing of it!
i was sleeping turned TV on next morning for the 6am news thee it was
I didn't even know about it til that night when I turned on the tv and saw a plane crashing into a building. I could not believe it.
Hubby and I had just turned the tv off and gone to bed when the phone rang, it was his mate telling us to turn on the tv and we saw the 2nd plane crash too, we watched for hours in shock and left the tv on all night. I remember waking in the morning and thinking it had all been a dream, it was all very surreal.
It was just before 1 a.m. and the television show was interrupted with live footage of the first attack.I watched the uncensored footage (horrible.will never forget people jumping out of the top floors to get away from the fire) with absolute horror, disbelief and I must admit a macabre fascination. About 15 minutes later I watched, (and I can distinctly remember thinking why are they still allowing planes to fly over), the second plane pass over the site, circle and then slam into the second tower.
I was in absolute shock as eventually the buildings just folded like a stack of cards.
I went into the bedroom to wake my husband.but he just said It's a movie.and rolled over and back to sleep. Typical.
Th next day at school, there was a Teacher and Parent meeting before school to discuss the handling of the situation for the pupils.
One of my friends at the school was very, very concerned about her husband.he had been due to leave NY the day before, but decided to do some sightseeing. Of course there was no way for either to contact each other for hours. All the phone lines were jammed.
i didn't find out until 7.30 am, when a colleague picked me up for work, saying she'd just been listening to the radio.rarara.
I heard it on the radio just as I was turning into my garage. I went inside and turned on the TV just before the second plane hit. I was really shocked, especially afterwards when they found out it was a terrorist attack.
Then I started to get worried because a netpal of mine lives in NYC and I remembered her saying that she got off the train near the WTC. Because the phone lines and everything were down it was a while before I heard from her that she was okay. She was completely stunned that it had happened at all.she had always maintained to me that she was living in the safest country in the world.
i remember waking up in the morning to get ready for work. i turned the tv on to watch the news, and there it was. a smoldering heap. i had such an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach all day, just to imagine what some of those folks went through. if the world never sees something like that again, it'll be too soon.
I was sitting on the curb in an a parking lot drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette lol. I'd slept through the whole thing, and had spent the afternoon tooling around town, shopping, eating, hanging out with my boyfriend and hadn't heard anything about it. But I got curious as all the shops were closed in this one shopping center and there was a sign in one that said they were closed that day due to the national tragedy so I waited around, and asked the Fed Ex man what had happened and he filled me in.
It was.unbelievable to think about it. I rushed home and put the TV to CNN, and just watched it, all day long. The towers had both already gone down by the time I heard about it.but the footage of the rubble was horrible to watch. My sister had a very, very difficult time with it. To this day she can't talk about it without crying, poor girl
I was asleep. My husband woke me up and we watched together.
