Question:
RYCHLAK OUT of WPO Stars of the Bench in the Ukraine
This weekend one of the biggest Bench meets in Powerlifting history will take place. The WPO Stars of the Bench in the Ukraine. Scot Mendelson, Ryan Kennelly, and Rob Luyando are just some of the top names competing. Unfortuantly Gene Rychlak is NOT!

that sucks, seems to be alot of talk about gene around here *cough*gene rychlak question thread*cough*
it was a lot simpler before the gear huh? lol
now they have to have entourages travel with em
i didn't see this coming at all!
i didn't see this coming at all! lol...sarcasm
The entourages arent for the gear, its for the liftoff. Even Nick Winters travels with his own spotters, when he didnt he ****ed up his shoulder. Gear plays no role with the entourage, plus everyone of them has a handoff guy
I would be much more interested in this if it were done under a different fed...the WPO has the reputation as exhibition lifts for entertainment. judging is loose and I think a lot of People do not think their lifts should count as records.
This is not to fault the lifters in any way..If I could get my trip paid for and have a chance to earn up to $15,000 for 3 lifts, heck ya I'd go..and it not the lifters fault for loose judging, 48 hour weigh ins, ect.
I'm pulling for Ryan...heck in the WPO he could hit over 1000lb mark maybe.

when u have to bring your own crew and your own special bench etc to meets, its gone way too far IMO.
maybe thats why we dont seem to do so good in the IPF...they actually have standardized rules

What other wise insights into the powerlifting game do you have? Why do you care what Gene does? You dont seem to do too good in the IPF becuase you prolly arent good? Simple fact. Wade Hooper or Brian Siders do good. So do a lot of other IPF lifters. So I dont really see what you are getting at.
That whole message makes me want to puke. Give me a break, stop worrying about everyone else and just go or don't go. All this mudslinging is silly.
Sad... I would have loved to see a showdown between those three. Either way, Gene will hit something retarded in the next few months.
The U.S. does not do all that great in the IPF because alot of our best lifters compete in other feds..we in this country are more interested in making the biggest possible lift rather then the most reputable one...i other countries the IPF is much more popular and their top lifters lift there.

maybe thats why we dont seem to do so good in the IPF...they actually have standardized rules even with a 700lb lift off you would still want your guys that you train with doing the lift off raw or equipped. 700lbs or 1000 lbs is still going to cause injury if lifted off badly. Have you ever lifted off 700lbs for someone its a shitload of weight! The shirts have nothing to do with it. To make it simpler for you almost ALL elite lifters have a team that they bring to help out(lift off,set up etc)

how am I bashing? help me out here
its called an opinion. Is it okay if I have one of those?
side issue.
I think Siders and Hoop are great
lets put it this way...in my OPINION. The "stars" of yesterday used to go to the IPF and kick the worlds' ass.
Want some names? Coan, Kuc, Karwoski, Gant, Hatfield, Bridges
The stars of today dont even bother yet they want to be known as the "worlds best"...?

He puts the bar right were I like it and we have good timing. There is nothing wrong with using people you are comfortable with to help you out.
