Question:

squatin with/without pad
when i am squating should i not be useing a pad? if i dont it seems to really dig deep into my shoulders and become uncomfterble? should i stop being a wimp and just take the pain?

Answer:

stop being a wimp. you'll get used to it after a while

Answer:

no pain no gain

Answer:

lol nice 1! the pad gives me these weird red lines all over my back anyway. its funny really i never EVER see anybody work there legs at the gym and i never see anybody use the rack lol

Answer:

i always thought that the pad was uncomfortable, it rolls around on your back, no fun

Answer:

ditch the pad and rest the bar on your rear delt area, lower down on your back if you aren't already.
Resting it on your traps is fine, Oly lifters do it, but I think it's more comfortable lower down, and that is more standard powerlifting practice.

Answer:

Just saying, don't take offensive lol. Try working on your upper back and traps a little more if it hurts. Over the years i've worked out my back used to hurt but as soon as i developed some traps and upper back (lower back helps a lot too) the pain went away. I feel nothing but the bar pushing on my back now.

Answer:

yea i have weak traps! but im hopeing doing deadlifting they will grow a bit :)

Answer:

just give it 2 or 3 more weeks, your skin and upper back will get used to it, if the bar feels like the weight of the universe is on your back, try putting on 90lbs over the weight you're trying to work with and just stand there with it for 30 seconds, then take that extra 90 off and your working weight won't feel as heavy.

Answer:

build your traps up and they will make it VERY comfy to hold a bar, it actually feels natural holding a bar on your back if your traps come up enough that the bar cant get down to your spine

Answer:

never use the maxi pad

Answer:

velcro dildo

Answer:

If the pad helps why not use it? Now if you can't squat your normal weight without it then I would practice with no pad.

Lose it.

no pad

Answer:

buddy...you have the bar in the wrong position....you have it too hight on the traps! Lower it down to the REAR DELTS...squeez your shoulder blades together and you will find the right "shelf" for the bar.

Answer:

go without the pad. for some reason to me the weight seems heavier without it which is good

i love the pad :D

Answer:

NO pad, besides once you get over 200 lbs or so on that bar , that little bit of padding does nothing. Use your traps as pads.

PERSONALLY (yes my opinion take it as that and that only) I think thats too far down on your back. I would be afraid of it falling down my back.
