Question:
few questions
1. is it absalutely neccesary for rest other than sleep to gain weight?(i feel like crap if i dnt have 15 mins at teh very least a day)
2. are eggs better raw or cooked?
3. what is a normal rate to gain weight for a begginer body builder of about 6 foot 2 (daily)
ok i never wanted to post 3 seperate threads so heres 3 questions ...
would appreciate some feedback
1) Ive been getting along fine with..just sleep? What do you mean by other rest..like, sitting and watching tv or something?
2) They taste good cooked. I mix raw egg whites in with a lot of drinks though.
3) Daily.. don't really expect anything daily. For a beginner i'd say if you're lucky a pound or two a week or something.
1. You need to try and get at least 8 hours unbroken sleep every night. Your body does its growing while you rest.
2. Cooked eggs are better than raw eggs.
3. Don't look for increases in weight by the day, your weight will constantly fluctuate throughout the day, so looking for gains daily will drive you crazy. You should be looking to try and gain around 1 - 2lb a week. Make sure to weight yourself at the same time of the day every week. First thing in the morning on an empty stomach is a good idea.

ok thats good i actully gained 4 lbs this week but ive been eating like a pig as for the sleep is it neccesary to take any days off to relax coz ive herd you shud but i reli dont liek doin it at all It IMPERATIVE that you take days off from the gym. I can't stress enough how important rest is when your training hard.
A huge mistake that most beginners make is thinking that more is better, when thats simply not the case.
Your body grows when your resting, not while your training. All you do in the gym is stimulate the muscle to grow, then with proper rest and nutrition outside of the gym, the muscle will recover bigger and stronger. Work the muscle then feed the muscle.
If you don't rest properly you won't grow, its as simple as that. I'd advise you to train 3 days a week, 4 days a week maximum.

ok so in that case would one day training , one day rest, one day training , one day rest etc... would that be fine? or is there simply more to it? Right now I do :-
Monday - Chest & Back
Tuesday - Off
Wednesday - Quads, Hamstrings & Calves
Thursday - Off
Friday - Shoulders, Triceps & Biceps
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off
So I train every other day and then take the weekend off completely. If I'm training 4 days a week I'll do something like :-
Monday - Chest & Calves
Tuesday - Quads & Hamstrings
Wednesday - Off
Thursday - Shoulders & Biceps
Friday - Back & Triceps
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off
I'm not saying you should use the same muscle group split, but those kinda of training patterns will allow enough time for your body to recuperate and grow. I usually only train 4 days a week when I'm bulking and eating a load of food, otherwise I find my body repsonds better to training 3 days a week and getting an extra rest day.
so i should very rarely or better still never do any kind of training two days in a row? in other words if i work out one day i shud rest teh day after?
so i should very rarely or better still never do any kind of training two days in a row? in other words if i work out one day i shud rest teh day after? Training two days in a row isn't going to harm you, but try and work your routine so that you don't train MORE than 2 days in a row, and like I said, if I was you, I'd only train 3 days a week anyway. Thats plenty enough for a beginner.
Try the 3 day split I posted earlier.
well i have done that for the last for days i have only worked out twice today is my "rest day" and it dus seem to be working for me altho i feel reli lazy if i dont do atleast a little bit every day..i guess ill get used to it
