Question:

Sup guys, Im totally new here.. and Have some questions.
Since my message is pretty big, just scroll down to my question that id like answered if you want, thanks.
Hey watsup guys? I have known about this website for like a year, but i've probably only visited it like 3 times.. And I really took notice into it when I was reading peoples thoughts about the Max-OT routine which was from a thread 3 years ago. I now decided to become a consistent member to this site, and i hope to learn a lot from here.
Anyways about myself, I'm 19, weigh about 135 pounds. 5'11, Ive been body building for about 2 years... But... Its always been on and off. In those 2 years, the longest i ever had been consistent to working out was about a month, 2 at the most.
I was stuck at 116 for the most of that time in 2 years. Id gain 5 pounds, lose it, gain it , lose it, gain a little more, lose it .. So much that it pretty much discouraged me , and just made me regret all the time i wasted in the gym for no reason.. but then i realized it wasnt for no reason, because i kept the experience with me.
2 and a half months ago, i was weighing 116, just got healed from a sprained ankle and a flu, i set a goal to go to the gym and BE CONSISTANT no matter what. not letting absolutely anything hold me back.. So in a month in a half i managed to gain around 15 pounds. Im real proud of myself, Im happy with my gains. Most ive weighed in my entire life. I plan to stay completely consistent and my goal is to reach 180 pounds! As for being 130, i know it still isnt much, i feel like im getting ripped off some how. People who dont workout have bigger arms than me? my biceps arent as big as they should be as much as i worked them out, but then again i 'kind' of just started working out. So i guess i need to be more patient. But my friend told me he would never guessed i workout my arms. cuz theyre not that big at all. and i cant figure out why. Genetics? my dad use to have huge arms when he body build though. but his metabolism was a lot slower than mine was when he was my age..
So i decided to register for this website, knowing how many countless of people here are far more experienced than i am, and hoping someone could help me out with a few simple things, because my greatest pet peve of working out is to find out something new 3 or 4 weeks later... Id like to be well knowledged on wat im doing as much as i can if im going to commit to it from the beginning of now, because i know little things could add up to a big difference over time. and i dont want to make a mistake.
i entered my weight into the max ot calculator, and it said
Sex: Male Age: 19 Body weight: 134 pounds
Body Type: ectomorph Activity Level: Slightly Active
Calories: 2010 Protein: 226.12 grams
Carbs: 180.9 grams Fat: 42.43 grams
I havnt really measured my nutrition intake to the T, so i may over eat and i do it just to be safe.. but In a day, i eat about 3 servings of both steak and rice, one 40 minutes before workout, and one after. in the mornings i have a protein shake, and 30 minutes later i have breakfast.. of 4 eggs and 4 small tortillas. i drink protein hour and a half after each of my meals. and i also eat chimichanga (34 carbs 10 grams of protein) later on every 3 hours or so. and thats a typical day for me. You guys think i eat too much?
you guys may think i got really fat but when i pinch my muscles i can pinch like a centimeter on my arms, and about half a inch on my chest, and about a inch on my stomach it seems. so i havnt gotten that fat.

Im doing the MAX-OT routines, But when i look at the max-ot guide for eating, jeff willet only eats like 2 servings of REAL food it seems (chicken and baked potatoes and rice). and the rest comes from shakes and suppliments. I keep wondering how someoen could be so huge, and not even eat that much food? Should i do the same? for some reason, i feel like if i did i would lose weig because im mostly drinking and not eating... what do you guys think?
My second question is, wat are the best suppliments out there u can recommend? I want to be able to gain absolutely my maximum potential of muscle growth. i dont want to workout for a year, and gain 40 pounds of muscle or whatever, and then knowing if i had taken this or that suppliment i could of been bigger, you know? There are a list of suppliments from the MAX-ot website, should i get those? Or are there better ones? I was browsing the forum and i noticed a suppliment called "Sizeon" And i definetely want to get that one. Ive never taken creatine and im excited to start. but wat others would u guys recommend for each class that are GREAT essentials, such as proteins, creatine, vitamin, etc.
And if there are any other tips or tricks, feel free to offer any advice, anything uve learned from all the experience uve gotten from research or weightlifting, thanks.
Your guys help would be GREATLY appreciated... Thanks a lot.

hey thanks a lot for the quick reply, ill make my important questions in bold.

Answer:

that calorie estimate looks a bit low prob should be up around 2500-3000..dont worry about those arms they will grow in good time, if your eatting right!
plan out a diet start lifting using a full body routine something like this
Mon Lift
Tue off
Wed lift
Thur off
Fri lift
Weekend off
compound lifts such as squats, bench press, dips, chin ups, pull ups, ben over rows, all use mutiple muscle groups which is what you need to concentrate on.
honestly I would worry about supplements try to have a diet that consists mostly of food, it is much better for you and your body will thank you later in life. Just get some Whey powder to use to bump your protien intake up.

Answer:

muscle growth does not happen in the gym...it happens when your resting, remember that...you should be aming to gain 1-2lb of bw per week, anymore then that and most of that will be fat. Its is quite hard to gain muscle by itself, fat will generally accompany it during a bulk but this is not a bad thing as you can always cut back after a good bulk.
