serious gains through squats and legpress
Question:

serious gains through squats and legpress
on june 29 i could squat 200 pounds 6 times, a week later i put on 225 without knowing it and squated it 6 times again. Last week i squated 235 barely 5 times, and just today i put on 235 again not thinking i would be able to do more then six but i did 10 reps.
My leg press moved up from 6 reps of 360 lbs to 6 reps of 450 in a week!!! i wasnt even straining myself and kept proper form... well in the past month i did switch to a clean bulk and am eating everything i can get my hands on and its helped like crazy... does anybody think that these gain are like to fast or dangerous??? but the weird thing is that i can do the exercises with good form? opinions, comments thanks

Answer:

i miss leg press. its all squat-clean-dead now :(
i used to be able to do 810-900 for 6-8 good reps for 2 sets with pretty good form id say.
wonder if it went up with all the squatting i've done since 3x a week :)

Answer:

You're 15 it's called a growth spirt, it's not dangerous, keep going take full advantage of it. Very liley.
I think you should keep it going as long as you keep proper form and stop as soon as feel anything that doesnt feel right. I worked up to about 900 for 6 reps and Im 170 but I dropped back to higher volume (8-10 reps) at 600 lbs and got better results off of that. I dropped mainly because I relaize that my knees can only take so much increasing weight and come on..im only 170 lbs at the moment so its only a matter of time before something gave. In any case, I still get teh leg workout of a lifetime and with heavy weight but higher volume in reps per set so that's something to keep in mind.
